Founded by Sam, a magician and tech whiz, and Maria, a customer service and HR expert, The Lift Escape Rooms offers three unique and handcrafted game experiences designed to challenge and entertain.

An escape room is an immersive experience set against different themes and backdrops. Your team is pitted against interactive puzzles with an aim of escaping the room within the time limit.
At The Lift Escape Rooms, we offer three unique game themes set in unconventional spaces. We are located in the heart of the city just 5 minutes from Brighton station. And pride ourselves on being an independent Brighton business which is family run.
Born out Sam’s lifelong hobby for magic and puzzles, and Maria’s passion for people and the creative, the business has grown from strength to strength since opening in 2022. All games and puzzles are completely original and handmade by the team. We pride ourselves on offering something different to the standard themes and work hard to use our spaces in creative ways.
Sam has a background as a professional magician and all round tech wizzkid. And Maria has had a successful career in customer service and human resources. So together they bring different areas of expertise which fit together perfectly. Starting a business from the ground up (while still working full time jobs) has been a challenge at times. With the inevitable long hours and odd mistake made along the way. But now we have a fantastic team of Game Hosts who support the business and help us continue our 5 star review ratings.
We opened our first room - The Lift Shaft - in late 2022.
Get your hard hat on, pick up your torch, and step into The Lift Shaft. Suspended above you is the lift but it’s faulty so we need you to get it fixed. The only catch... it’s falling so your only change of survival s to get it fixed before it comes crashing down!
A year later, we opened Lock & Rock.
It’s time to dress up and rock out to a banging playlist while solving a mystery with a dark twist. As a team of investigators, you’ll retrace the steps of a missing music journalist to discover what has happened to her.
Our newest room - Comic Chaos - opened just 6 months ago.
A brilliant but twisted villain is draining the world of it’s colour, leaving everything in lifeless monochrome. It’s down to your team of heroes to enter his layer and thwart his plan. To save the world from a dull fate and restore it’s vibrant hues.
